Population

In 2011, Kathua had population of 616,435 of which male and female were 326,109 and 290,326 respectively. In 2001 census, Kathua had a population of 511,455 of which males were 269,457 and remaining 241,998 were females. Kathua District population constituted 4.92 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Kathua District was at 5.04 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 20.53 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Kathua District recorded increase of 21.50 percent to its population compared to 1991.
